Before, it was enough for the parents themselves to fill in a residence schedule where they added their travel time to and from work.
Now they must also submit a certificate from the employer with information on working hours and the scope of the position. Even those who study must state their times.
Strained economy
The reason is the municipality’s strained finances. Eslöv is not the first in the country to do this, but the reactions have been strong.
– It’s a hot potato for some reason, and I can’t answer why, says Eva Mellberg, director of the preschools in Eslöv.
Eva Mellberg says that some parents have said that the municipality makes it difficult for them when they cannot leave preschool to, for example, go shopping or cook.
“Not our job”
– Then I answer that it is boring but not our job to manage that type of care, says Mellberg. However, there are parents who do not mind the tightening.
– I think it is good that the parents leave when they are supposed to and not cheat, says mother Emma Persson.
