A large police operation is underway in Märsta. The Swedish Migration Agency confirms that “a number” escaped from the detention center in Märsta. According to the police, four or five people have gone astray.
– We are there with a number of patrols and a helicopter to create a situational picture, says Carina Skagerlind, press spokesperson at the police.
The police were alerted at 5:19 p.m. Dogs have also been involved in the search for the people.
At least two people have been found. The police are now investigating whether any crime was committed in connection with the escape.
– The deviation in itself is not a crime. But we look at whether a crime was committed when they left the place where they were detained, says Carina Skagerlind.
