Escape from Tarkov is experiencing a new season for the first time and many players are hoping that it will stay in the game for a long time.

What is the season? Escape from Tarkov is currently celebrating winter and the holidays. Fittingly, it’s snowing on the maps of the hardcore shooter.

It doesn’t matter which map you play on. The snow lies both on old, well-known maps such as customs terrain or the coast (Shoreline) and on the new map Ground Zero.

The snow has been available since December 29, 2023 and has left a largely positive impression on players since then.

What do the players say about the snow? Escape from Tarkov players like the snow. Many people write on social media that the snowy maps look really nice and that it is easier to see hidden enemies in the snow.

Some players even wish that snow should be included in the normal weather rotation.

Then a real snowstorm hit us. We didn’t know what the hell was going on, but we knew it was great. We heard nothing, saw nothing, after 15 minutes it calmed down and it has been snowing ever since. We love it.”
  • Phoenixsui via escapefromtarkov.com: “Thank you for adding snow to the game. He looks good and sounds good. It also has a calming effect on me.     • Could the snow stay or return? Yes, but he won’t be part of the betting rotation like some fans would like.

    As Nikita Buyanov, the game director of Escape from Tarkov, revealed in a stream on Twitch, snow is one of the different seasons planned for EFT. These will be officially announced in the future and will change at regular intervals.

    The individual seasons should then influence the weather on the map. There will obviously be snow in winter, as the current test shows.
