The man, who is in his 30s and has previously been described as dangerous, has been chased by the police since he escaped from a psychiatric ward in Falköping earlier this week.
Around noon on Saturday, the man was arrested under calm circumstances in central Stockholm, the police write in a press release.
According to the police, he will be returned from the forensic psychiatric ward.
