Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland scored five goals in the FA Cup. Kevin De Bruyne assisted four of Haaland’s hits.
Norwegian star Erling Haaland scored a total of five goals in FA Cup football as Manchester City progressed to the quarter-finals with a 6-2 win over Luton.
Haaland also made history, as he is the first City player to score five goals in two different matches.
Haaland recently returned to the playing fields after being sidelined for two months due to a leg injury.
– My condition? I’m getting back to my best. I finally feel well. It’s an incredible feeling. There are exciting times ahead and we are ready to attack, Haaland told ITV.
Haaland refers to City’s situation in the Premier League, as the team is second, one point behind Liverpool. In the Champions League, the team goes to the second quarter-final against Copenhagen with a 3–1 lead.
Haaland has been in great form at City, as he has scored 79 goals in 83 matches for the club, including all competitions. This means he has scored 30 more goals than any other Premier League player since the summer of 2022.
Against Luton, Haaland also got help From Kevin De Bruynewho assisted on four of Haaland’s goals.
– Erling is on fire. His connection with Kevin was perfect, the City manager Pep Guardiola said after the match.
According to Guardiola, De Bruyne needs a player like Haaland on the field. Haaland, on the other hand, needs De Bruyne’s skills.
– Kevin is not such a selfish player in front of the goal. Kevin needs a move like Erling. We know how aggressive they are.
Haaland also praised De Bruyne’s moves.
– He is incredible. He does what he does best. It’s a pleasure to play with him, Haaland stated.
