Eriksson back in Chelseakross

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Sam Kerr scored four of the goals.

Magdalena Eriksson has long been one of Chelsea’s key players, but with her contract expiring this summer, she has suddenly been short on playing time.

In the league cup semi-final, however, she played from the start – a happy news for the national team captain Peter Gerhardsson in view of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand this summer.

Chelsea quickly grabbed hold of a final place against Arsenal on March 5. Sam Kerr made it 1-0 in the third minute and Fran Kirby made it 2-0 after ten minutes.

Then the targets rolled in at regular intervals. It was 4-0 at halftime after Kerr completed her hat-trick and in the 60th she was the four-goal scorer.

Chelsea are in the League Cup semi-finals for the fourth consecutive year, winning in both 2020 and 2021, but are seeking revenge for last year’s final loss to Manchester City.

Johanna Rytting-Kaneryd once again started on the bench, but was substituted in the 61st minute for Chelsea while Zecira Musovic, who kept goal in the league at the weekend, was now sidelined in favor of German Ann-Katrin Berger.
