Anna Kinberg Batra bought out county director Åsa Ryding and gave her a million dollar parachute.
Now the responsible minister is required to answer about what the government knew about the process.
– It is time to examine the role of Prime Minister Slottner and the government in this whole mess, says Riksdag member Peder Björk (S).

The tours around Anna Kinberg Batra at the County Administrative Board in Stockholm continue. The Ombudsman, JO, reviews her employment of two friends. The National Audit Office is examining how it happened when Kinberg Batra fired county director Åsa Ryding and gave her a parachute of SEK 3.8 million.
Documents seen by Aftonbladet show that Ryding signed an agreement to quit. Anna Kinberg Batra’s signature is also on the paper.
The question remains whether Kinberg Batra had the mandate to fire her or whether a government decision is required.
Riksdag member Peder Björk (S) wants the Riksdag’s constitutional committee to examine what the government and Civil Affairs Minister Erik Slottner (KD) knew about Ryding’s dismissal.

KU registration
In a debate in the Riksdag, Slottner has recently said that Kinberg Batra was free to terminate the county director’s service. In a KU notification submitted to the Riksdag, Björk writes that it is far from clear.
Head of Unit Stefan Gollbo at the National Audit Office has previously told Aftonbladet that it is likely that only the government has the formal right to fire or hire a county director.
– It is important to review the prime minister’s role in this given that Slottner, during a debate with me, so clearly said that it had gone right and that the county board acted quickly and correctly, Björk tells Aftonbladet.
Peder Björk thinks it is serious if the government knew about the million dollar parachute to Ryding but did not act. He thinks it is even more serious if Anna Kinberg Batra acted without a mandate.
– People must be able to have faith and trust in the activities that the County Administrative Board conducts.
The Minister: Prepared to answer questions
Isn’t this just a way to push a political opponent?
– No, not really. The Constitution Committee has an important role in reviewing the actions of the government, outside of party politics. It is about maintaining compliance with the regulations and the laws we have. In order to learn from this type of event and to be able to take measures so that it does not happen again.
The Riksdag’s constitutional committee is tasked with examining whether the government and the ministers comply with the required rules. When a report is received, the committee begins an examination, the minister can then be summoned to a hearing. Erik Slottner writes in a statement to Aftonbladet that he has received information that he has been notified by KU.
– I have received information that the report concerns a statement during an interpellation debate. The statement concerned the termination of the employment of a county councilor or a county superintendent. I am prepared to answer the questions that follow from a possible KU review.
