Top manager Erik Kristow prepared SD to gain government influence before the election.

Now he has left his job with immediate effect.

He himself says that personal health reasons are behind it.

Erik Kristow, head of the Sweden Democrats’ office in the Riksdag, quit abruptly three weeks ago. In an email sent to the chancellery, it is stated that Kristow has left his position with immediate effect “due to private circumstances”.

A source with insight says that the case was handled under strict secrecy from the SD management.

– The lid is on, says the source.

The union was baffled

Sources in the SD say that the action from the party is unusual, which has fueled speculation in the chancellery. Right after Kristow left work, his room was cleaned of things, according to Aftonbladet’s information.

Michael Löfdahl is the union representative for the Union at the SD office. When Aftonbladet reaches him, he is puzzled that Kristow left the workplace so quickly.

– He is not one of our members so I am not connected and have no idea whatsoever. I received information from our staff council, then the information was that he resigned at his own request, says Löfdahl.

Recruited for the top job in SD’s change force

Kristows has held a top position as head of the units political service, party leadership staff, information and press at the SD’s parliamentary office. He was recruited to the chancellery in 2021 and was from the beginning part of the SD’s change force, a group of officials who prepared Parity for government influence after the election.

Aftonbladet has been in contact with Kristow, who does not want to be interviewed. However, he says that personal health reasons are behind the decision. The Sweden Democrats’ party secretary, Mattias Bäckström Johansson, could not be reached.
