The Hockey World Cup in the Czech Republic is fast approaching.
Now Tre Kronor can get dream reinforcements get North America.
Swedish NHL star Erik Karlsson now gives his very first words about the WC.
Things are starting to tighten up for the 2024 Hockey World Cup being played in the Czech Republic. It becomes Sam Hallams second championship as Swedish national team captain after the huge fiasco last year when Tre Kronor went out against Latvia in the quarter-finals.
Dahlin agreed
As usual, all Swedes hope for blue and yellow star names from the NHL and so far one has accepted. It’s the Buffalo Sabres’ big back Rasmus Dahlin who became the first NHL player to wear the Swedish national team jersey.

Now it also opens up for further dream reinforcement when the Pittsburgh Penguins missed the Stanley Cup playoffs. Which opens up for the Swedish NHL star Erik Karlsson and Richard Rakell and Marcus Pettersson.
Karlsson’s message
Now the “World’s best Karlsson” gives his first information about the hockey World Cup.
– The body still feels perfectly fine. After all, you’re not young anymore, so you get to see how it feels when everything is settled, if everything is perfect. And see how things are with the family and what the plans for the summer look like. The urge is always there, that’s not the question. I hope we can get something together, says Karlsson in a statement to Expressen.

Erik Karlsson has not played at the World Cup since 2012 in Stockholm and the last time he represented Tre Kronor was in the star-studded World Cup in 2016. But now it may become relevant again after the 33-year-old had contact with both Hallam and the assistant coach Patric Hörnqvistwhere the plan is for them to be heard again within a few days.
– Now I’m going to drink a few pilsners and take it easy for a few days, then we’ll see where it goes. But I’m very keen on the WC, he says in the interview.

In this NHL season, there were 56 points in 82 games for the top defender. Rakell, who accounted for 37 points in 70 games in the NHL, also opens for the hockey World Cup.
– I love playing with the Swedish national team. It is one of my best hockey memories when we played in Copenhagen and won gold. It would be fun to experience it again, says the 30-year-old to the evening newspaper.
