During the week, one of the world’s best hockey players has returned to his beloved Pittsburgh again. Jaromir Jagr flew in to receive the greatest tribute from the Pittsburgh Penguins after so many fine and successful years with the NHL team.

Jagr’s tribute

On Monday night, the 52-year-old had his number 68 jersey hoisted to the roof of the PPG Paints arena and immortalized forever. After eleven NHL seasons with the Penguins and two Stanley Cup titles, his number has now been retired from use again, the highest honor a hockey player in North America can receive.

For the Swedish NHL star Erik Karlssonin his first season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, a childhood dream came true when he got to play with Jagr.
– Hello! Today I had my first training session with Jaromir Jagr. I have played against him for many years, but now you got to be a teammate with him. It was very special,” said Pittsburgh’s number 65 in a video on Instagram, watch it below.

“The best Karlsson in the world” has since confirmed what many have suspected about Jagr and his immortality as a hockey player.
– He is 52 years old but still looks like he could play and probably could have. So it was very special and fun to be a part of, says the Swedish star defender.
– It is also very inspiring to see a person like him, who has done so much for hockey in Europe and someone who will be in the history books forever. So it was very fun to share the ice with him.
