Erik Karlsson was upset about the decision last night – lost after the Swedish star’s decisive miss

Great position to decide the match in five-on-three games.
Then came the miss from Erik Karlsson.
The Swede’s big miss lost the game to the Pittsburgh Penguins – and now Karlsson is seriously injured.

Erik Karlsson made the most high-profile move in the NHL this summer when he left the San Jose Sharks for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Karlsson was the league’s best back last season, becoming the first back in 30 years to reach triple-digit points in one season. Karlsson chose the Pittsburgh Penguins to really challenge for the Stanley Cup, but the beginning of the season has been close to disastrous.

Decisive giant miss

Erik Karlsson does indeed stand, with nine games played, on six points, which can be considered acceptable, but for Pittsburgh there have only been three wins, and with that listing, they are last(!) in their division, behind bottom-tipped competitors such as Philadelphia Flyers and Columbus Blue Jackets. Last night there were two new points for Erik Karlsson, but despite that, he was seriously injured after the game.

The Pittsburgh Penguins took the lead against the expected bottom team Anaheim Ducks early in the third period of tonight’s game, but the Ducks almost immediately tied the game at 3-3. At the end of the game, Pittsburgh got a super situation to decide, when Anaheim drew two fast players. The Penguins sent their best players out on the ice to play five-on-three, lining up shots against Lukas Dostal, the Ducks’ second-choice goaltender who had to step in when first-choice goaltender John Gibson was injured in the first period.

Sawed heavily

However, Pittsburgh did not get the puck in, and instead Erik Karlsson would decide the match, in the wrong direction… The Swede tried to make a pass to a teammate but then Adam Henrique got in the way. Meanwhile, Mason McTavish came out of the penalty box, and once he got the puck in a free position, he made no mistake. The Anaheim Ducks won the game 4-3, and Pittsburgh’s crisis only deepens.

On social media, Erik Karlsson was severely criticized for his wrong pass, which thus became completely match-deciding.

“Erik Karlsson, ladies and gentlemen,” writes one user.

“The best paid back in the league…”, writes another.

“Disappointingly done”‚ writes a third.
