The presidential camp obtained the vast majority of committee presidencies in the National Assembly this Saturday, July 20, but the Insoumis Eric Coquerel was reelected to the presidency of the Finance Committee. The latter, assigned to the opposition, was also coveted by the right.
Florent Boudié (Ensemble pour la République, Macronist) was elected president of the powerful Laws Committee, MoDem Jean-Noël Barrot to the Foreign Affairs Committee, Paul Christophe (Horizons) to the Social Affairs Committee, Antoine Armand (Ensemble) to the Economic Affairs Committee, Sandrine Le Feur (Ensemble) to the Sustainable Development Committee, Jean-Michel Jacques (Ensemble) to the Defense Committee. The socialist Fatiha Keloua Hachi snatched the presidency of the Cultural Affairs Committee.
This week, the most strategic positions in the new National Assembly, elected after the early legislative elections of June 30 and July 7, were determined. Yaël Braun-Pivet was narrowly re-elected, while the left obtained an absolute majority of seats in the Bureau of the National Assembly.
