ERG enters the storage market with two 22 MW capacity

(Finance) – ERGa company listed on Euronext Milan and active in the production of electricity from renewable sources, has been awarded 14 MW of capacity (Available Probability Capacity) relating to energy storage systems in the Capacity Market auction announced by Terna for the Italian market, held on 21 February last. These are two plants with electrochemical storage systems for a total of 22MW of installed capacity in theCentral-Southern Area and Sicily respectively of 10 MW (6 MW in CDP) and 12 MW (8 MW in CDP).

The two projects are currently under authorization and construction is planned near two ERG wind farms in operation in Ginestra degli Schiavoni in Campania and in Vicari in Sicily. The award price of the auction is equal to 33.467 k € / MWCDP / year, for a duration of 15 years starting from 2024. The storage systems provide dispatching services performing a fundamental task in balancing the network in support of greater penetration of renewables.
