Sweden has promised to extradite 73 people to Turkey, says Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan according to the news agency Bloomberg. According to Turkey, the people are suspected terrorists.

Erdogan made the statement at a news conference following the NATO summit in Madrid. The President reiterates that Turkey has called on Sweden and Finland to intensify their fight against terrorism.

“We strongly emphasize the message that we expect sincere solidarity from our allies, not just words but also action,” Erdogan wrote, writes AFP.

In connection with the Madrid meeting, Turkey has released its veto on Swedish and Finnish NATO membership.
