The Turkish intelligence service MIT has killed IS leader Abu Hussein al-Qurashi, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a televised interview with journalists on Sunday.
– The suspected leader of IS, codenamed Abu al-Hussein al-Qurashi, was neutralized in an operation carried out by the MIT in Syria yesterday, Erdogan said on Turkish television.
The information has not been confirmed by other independent sources.
Abu al-Hussein al-Qurashi was named the new leader in November after his predecessor in the post was killed.
