It was a second place for world number one Henrik von Eckermann and the star horse King Edward in the five-star grand prix jumping in the Netherlands.
The competition, with hurdles of 1.60, was decided in a timed jump-off between the nine crews that were faultless in the main round.
In the jump-off, von Eckermann, who started early, was both fast and faultless. When all the riders had ridden it was clear that only Willem Greve, Netherlands, was faster. He won by a margin of just four hundredths.
Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli on Kalinka van de Nachtegaele also started, but suffered eight faults and did not advance to the jump-off.
The Dutchman Harrie Smolders finished third in the competition.
