Equestrian sport: Petronella Andersson won the time jumping at the Gothenburg Horse Show

Many probably thought that the Frenchman Julien Anquetin had secured the victory in the time jumping, but as the penultimate rider, Petronella Andersson stepped forward and rode in a time of 56.94 seconds. Nine hundredths faster.

When she finished, the commentators were ecstatic.

– I got goosebumps. I didn’t think Anquetin’s time could be taken, says Björe.

Andersson himself had to take a lap of honor in front of the home crowd.

– It’s great considering the fantastic audience we have here, she tells SVT Sport.

Fredricson third despite failure

Peder Fredricson and Catch Me Not S did not have an easy time in the time jumping in Gothenburg.

He dropped the stirrup after 17 seconds, but despite that he finished flawlessly in a fine time of 57.25 and finished third.

– It is clear that it disturbs, but you can see how compliant he is. Peder Fredricson is a master at riding fast without looking fast, says SVT Sports expert Lotta Björe.

Peder Fredricson was really happy with the horse and managed to forget the lost stirrup.

– It’s important not to think too much about it and try to continue. Do the best you can according to the conditions, says Fredricson.

World number one Henrik von Eckermann and Iliana had a tough day with twelve faults.

Second in the competition was Frenchman Julien Anquetin with the horse Blood Diamond du Pont.
