Director Tony Scott has made a total of five films with lead actor Denzel Washington (The Equalizer 3 – The Final Chapter). In 2010, the train thriller Unstoppable was released in cinemas. It was to be their last work together, because the filmmaker died two years later. The thriller is not a swansong, but a dynamic action film that shows the duo at their best.
Denzel Washington and Chris Pine have to prevent a chemical disaster in Unstoppable
Unstoppable was inspired by a near-disaster that occurred in the US state of Ohio in May 2001. At that time, a freight train loaded with chemicals raced through the countryside for hours without a driver. In the film, experienced train driver Frank Barnes (Denzel Washington) decides to stop the train. At his side is newcomer Will Colson (Chris Pine). However, Frank not only has to deal with a huge danger, but also with the need to save money and the incompetence of his superiors.

Unstoppable
The action thriller ranks at the top of the genre, right next to Express into Hell with Jon Voight. Tony Scott and his team create a raging behemoth that crushes everything in its path. We as viewers are right in the middle of it all. Ben Seresin’s (World War Z) camera captures us on the shaking rails or on the side of the road, so that you get the feeling that the train is about to rush through your living room.
The strengths of Unstoppable – Out of Control include the human side as well as the machine. Denzel Washington is immediately taken away from the veteran who is about to be sidelined. You can sense his frustration with a world of work that has overtaken him. With time However, Unstoppable turns into a kind of duel: Who is stronger? The soulless freight train or a man who just wants to do his job even though he knows he isn’t valued?
