The Sweden Democrats are preparing an equality policy program in which they claim that the fight against radical feminism is central.
According to the party, the view on gender equality is part of the culture war it claims to be waging.
– I am definitely a feminist – in the original sense of the word. Today, the word feminist is associated with a person on the extreme left – a radical feminist, says Michael Rubbestad (SD), equality policy spokesperson.
Interest in the Sweden Democrats’ view of gender equality was not particularly great before the election. But since they are now part of the government’s foundation, the party’s view on gender equality may become of great importance. The new proposals will be negotiated with other Tidö parties, according to Michael Rubbestad (SD).
He claims that the Sweden Democrats have always prioritized equality. But their fight for an equal society has been difficult to find even if you have looked. The policy has, among other things, dealt with the fight against honor oppression and men’s violence against women.
Will develop a new program
Many of their gender equality policy proposals have thus been able to be linked to their migration policy. But in the autumn, an equality policy program will be presented to the voters. There, the fight against what SD calls radical feminism is absolutely central.
– Radical feminism sees men as a threat. That the whole system, society is built on a patriarchy where men are the problem, says Rubbestad.
Some concrete examples of the policy that will be presented: The Sweden Democrats long pushed for the Equality Authority to be shut down – but they have now changed their mind. Instead, the Sweden Democrats want to change the Equality Authority’s instructions, so that the authority no longer deals with what is called “radical feminism”, but with the feminism the Sweden Democrats advocate.
“Paradigm Shift”
Another example is the Sweden Democrats’ criticism of gender pedagogy in preschool, which they want to stop.
– It is clear that it is time for the paradigm shift that we have been talking about. After all, it will also include gender equality.
