Anyone who had fun with the community role-playing game epix last year can look forward to the sequel at gamescom 2024. All information about epix 2024 can be found here.
What is epix? Epix is a free, text-based adventure in which you accompany the robot EPI on his journey through the gamescomVerse. You solve numerous quests and unlock new chapters and goodies.
Epix has been at gamescom since 2021 and since then gamescom epix has become an integral part of the event. Epix offers puzzle fans the opportunity to delve deeper into the gamescomVerse before, during and after gamescom and to win numerous prizes
Fun fact: In 2023, the community solved over 375,000 quests during gamescom week alone.
After EPI was able to overcome nasty bugs last year, it continues in 2024 with seven brand new chapters. On top of that, there are also cool trading cards as a big innovation this year.

When does it start? From now on, all adventurous gamescom fans can get started online again and from August 21st also live on site during gamescom. There are a total of over 100 different quests to solve and you can win numerous prizes.
What is it about this time? In this year’s story, EPI has a lot to do on his journey through Pixopolis. This is the gaming capital of the gamescomVerse. Each district has its own theme and relates to gamescom.
What are the prices? As you complete quests and explore the gamescomVerse, you can win numerous prizes. These range from exclusive discounts to complete games and expansions to free tickets and merchandise. So there’s something for everyone.
Many partners will again be participating in gamescom epix in 2024, including Amazon Games, astragon, BAD SPIELE, Elgato, ESL, KONAMI, Kraken Wargames, Niantic, the city of Cologne, Ubisoft, the UN with “Playing for the planet” and many more.
What’s the deal with trading cards? A big innovation at epix this year is the digital gamescom trading cards. In total, there are almost 40 cards to be won from the “Areas & Shows”, “Creators”, “gamescom epix” and “Partners” categories.

Among the “Creators” you can discover well-known German talents such as DoktorFroid, Gnu, Juli Mi & Sola as well as Budi, Nils, Etienne and Simon from Rocket Beans TV.
The more cards you collect, the more prizes you unlock. The trading cards can be viewed in a digital album on your profile.
The best thing: you can swap duplicate cards with friends or other collectors. There is also a one-time “Collector Booster” that contains additional cards. These show our hero EPI in various alternative universes.
