We’ve waited a long time, next week the time has come: House of the Dragon completes its most important leap in time and introduces the adult cast of friends/rivals Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower a.

This means saying goodbye to Milly Alcock and Emily Carey, because the new cast begins the hot phase of this first season the Game of Thrones offshoot. This is also shown in the preview for Episode 6, which you can watch here. Here are the three most important things revealed in the preview.

House of the Dragon – S1E6 Preview

1. The mega time warp and the new cast of Rhaenyra and Alicent

The episode is originally titled The Princess and the Queen, a nod to the series’ two main characters who are getting new faces. Between Episode 5 and Episode 6 is namely a Time jump of 10 years, which is the largest of the series. As a result, the cast of the fantasy series changes:

  • Emma D’Arcy takes on the role of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen by Milly Alcock.
  • Olivia Cooke takes on the role of Queen Alicent by Emily Carey.
  • Check out our Time Warp overview article for more characters being recast, including Laena and Laenor Velaryon.

    2. The peace of the realm is in jeopardy and rumors about Rhaenyra’s children

The preview indicates two major fires in the Reich:

  • The conflict over the stepping stones or stepstones flares up again. Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) once defeated the Crab Feeder, but later withdrew from the area. Now someone is reaching for the stepping stones again, presumably the triarchy.
  • Rhaenyra, who was married to Laenor Velaryon in episode 5, now has several children. But they all have brown, not white-blonde hair, like their parents. This is used by Queen Alicent as evidence of a Affair of Rhaenyras viewed. But if Rhaenyra’s children are all illegitimate, then from the queen’s point of view, this not only casts doubt on her character, but also on her right to the succession to the throne.
  • 3. Targaryen princes, who are yet to play a major role

The preview also shows Aegon Targaryen, the eldest son of Viserys and Alicent, who could challenge Rhaenyra’s claim to power. He is played at this age by Ty Tennant.

Aemond Targaryen also appears. He quickly became a fan favorite for his appearance in George RR Martin’s book Fire and Blood.

Aemond is Alicent and Viserys’ second oldest son and is played by Leo Ashton at this age. Later in the series, just like Aegon, we’ll get to know his older version.

As a bonus, there’s another look at the largest living dragon at that time: Vhagar ridden by Laena Velaryon:
