In recent years, Tom Cruise has not only performed daring stunts in new Mission: Impossible films. He is also a regular in science fiction films. Edge of Tomorrow in particular caused a stir in the last decade. However, Oblivion, released in 2013, is also not to be underestimated.

Oblivion is an intoxicating science fiction film
A great attraction of Oblivion is exploring the mysteries of this vision of the future. Directed by Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski, the sci-fi film also features breathtaking landscapes that are Loneliness and beauty and lets us question the silent goings-on on the destroyed earth.
Oblivion strings together one exciting twist after another, giving you goosebumps all the time. The film’s greatest strength is its engaging atmosphere. The camera work of Claudio Miranda, who is also behind the fantastic imagery of Life of Pi, deserves special mention here.
Music is just as important: After working with electronic pioneers Daft Punk on his Tron film, Kosinski secured the skills of M83 head Anthony Gonzalez for Oblivion. Gonzalez wrote the score together with composer Joseph Trapanese, who was also involved in Tron: Legacy.

Oblivion is on tonight on 16 August 2024 at 20:15 on RTL ZWEI. The broadcast will run until 10:50 p.m. with advertising.
