Epic Games apologizes for Death Stranding in China

Although the Death Stranding Director’s Cut version, which was given for free in the past days, annoyed the company, it apologized in China.

Epic Games recently added the Director’s Cut version of Death Stranding to its free games. Taking it off the air and replacing it with the normal version in a short time caused both confusion and sadness in the players. A statement and apology came from the company, but on Weibo, also known as China’s Twitter…

Epic Games used Webio to apologize for Death Stranding

On Epic Games’ Weibo account In the shared post, it was explained that an intern caused the problem. On the platform, Epic Games, which agreed to distribute 505 Games’ game, was only supposed to distribute the regular version of Death Stranding for free. However, when a trainee accidentally flagged the Director’s Cut version, it was initially distributed to players. It didn’t take long for the bug to be noticed and was soon fixed. Of course, this situation both upset and angered us players.

The full statement from the firm was as follows: “An Epic employee (currently an Intern) accidentally set the free game to Death Stranding Director’s Cut instead of the Standard Edition last night. Our deal with the publisher was that only the standard edition would be released for free, and our team made a mistake. We are currently in discussion with the publisher on this matter.”

On the other hand, why the Webio platform was preferred for explanation is another question.
