For 10 years, Harry Potter, the greatest fantasy series of all time, has accompanied us. Given the mega success, expectations for a spin-off were high. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actually managed to take a completely new direction and at the same time Maintain magic of the Wizarding World. Today the fantasy film is on TV.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them on TV: Eddie Redmayne as a magizoologist
The magician and magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has devoted himself entirely to his love for magical creatures, but they soon get him into trouble. He loses the fantastic creatures on his journey to New Work and Newt finds himself in the sights of the American Magic Authority and its director Percival Graves (Colin Farrell). While he tries to track down the animals again with the help of Jacob (Dan Fogler) and the witch Tina (Katherine Waterston), he suspects that he has fallen into a conspiracy.
The spin-off takes place in the well-known world of Harry Potter and was also directed by David Yates several decades before the story of the student magician. Fantastic Beasts not only tells of a previously unknown era, but also moves outside of England for the first time. This approach was extremely well received by audiences and grossed a whopping $816 million. With us the film gets one excellent rating of 7.2 points.
Fantastic Beasts: Parts 4 and 5 should not come
The later parts make a clearer reference to the original series and deal not only with Newt but also with the young Albus Dumbledore. However, perhaps due to the proximity to Harry Potter, fans began to lose interest as revenue steadily declined.
Although five films were originally planned to cover the period from 1925 to 1945, There probably won’t be any more sequels. This was revealed not only by director David Yates, but also by actor Eddie Redmayne. The final word has not yet been spoken, but for now the entire focus seems to be on the new Harry Potter series, the planning of which is constantly evolving.
