Protesters from the Just Stop Oil movement interrupted a concert in London at the Proms festival on Friday night, says British broadcasting company BBC. The Proms is a classical music festival organized and broadcast by the BBC.
At the concert, a new piece about Ukraine was performed as well as by Jean Sibelius adaptation of the work. Concert conductor was Finnish Dalia Stasevska.
Two people got on stage in the middle of the show. Protesters waved an orange flag at the event at the Royal Albert Hall until they were removed from the stage. The scene lasted about five minutes.
The group has shared a video of the situation on their Twitter account.
In another tweet, the group says it is calling on the British government to immediately suspend all new oil and gas contracts and permits.
In addition, the group says that they just attacked the event organized by the BBC, because according to them, the BBC does not report enough about the climate crisis.
Protesters from the Just Stop Oil organization have also demonstrated this year at, for example, the Ashes cricket series, the Wimbledon tennis tournament and the Chelsea Flower Show competition.
