Some cuttings of the famous ficus macrophylla that grows near the house of the judge assassinated in 1992 by the mafia, in fact, were taken thanks to the collaboration between the Carabinieri, the Falcone Foundation, the Municipality and Superintendency of Palermo and duplicated in the Carabinieri National Center for forest biodiversity of Pieve Santo Stefano. The Centre, an avant-garde structure in Europe in the study and conservation of native forest species, has succeeded in reproducing the tree to generate small Falcone plants to be donated to schools.
