Together with what we saw in the pavilions from the Ferrara Fairhydrogeological instability is confirmed as a central theme. Over 540 thousand families and 1,300,000 inhabitants live in areas at risk of landslides, while approximately 3 million families and almost 7 million inhabitants live in areas at risk of flooding. The activities of the government, districts and commissioners for the prevention and mitigation of risks have offered important food for thought and concrete proposals, thanks to the participation of experts, scholars and representatives of territorial bodies, regions, commissioners appointed for emergency management, as well as the secretaries of the central and territorial districts.
Starting from concrete cases and recent ones events calamitous that have affected the island of Ischia, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna and Marche, and last but not least the wave of bad weather that is currently affecting several Italian regions, the debate focused on strategies to effectively address the challenges related to the prevention and mitigation of hydrogeological risk. From the need to strengthen the monitoringat the promoting the use of advanced digital technologies to prevent and mitigate the impacts of natural phenomena, ensuring a more effective and timely response. From the ability to be resilient and to live with the effects of climate change, to the development of adaptation systems.
The theme of the bankruptcy hydrogeological has become central, especially in the face of the fragility of the territories and the increase in calamitous events, also determined by the climate crisis. The management of hydrogeological instability also involves the construction of structural works, which have a significant impact in economic terms, in terms of number and interference with the urbanized environment and the natural environment. This also involves courageous choices in terms of delocalization and desealing of the territory.

It is work that is rewarding, we see the results and we are very happy about this. We are aware that this event has become a point of reference at an international level precisely for the topics that experts can discuss during the meetings. The future of this event is linked to the evolution of the topics that are discussed here. There is a very fast evolution. There are new needs on which to work and create solutions.
