Entertaining action that will keep you entertained

If you want pure popcorn entertainment today, which you don’t have to think about too much (or should), TV is the right place for you. Because here the Free TV premiere of an action film which hit cinema screens just a few months ago and caused an absurd spectacle. We’re talking about Freelance with Bumblebee star John Cena and Glow alumni Alison Brie.

John Cena has to protect a journalist in the jungle: That’s what the action comedy Freelance is about

After starting a family, Special Forces soldier Mason Pettis (Cena) gave up his dangerous job and now works at a desk in a lawyer’s office. Trapped in the boring everyday life, a sign from the past comes at just the right time: a military doctor (Christian Slater) wants to recruit him as a freelance agent for his own security company.

Mason doesn’t need to be told twice and is assigned to the journalist Claire Wellington (Brie) as a bodyguard. Together they travel to South America, where Claire is planning an important interview with the dictator Juan Arturo Venegas (Juan Pablo Raba). But just then a military coup breaks outClaire and Mason must flee headlong into the jungle with their new acquaintance.

Free TV premiere: Freelance delivers fun action with a bright star cast

Anyone looking for profound entertainment will certainly not find it in Freelance. Instead, the film by 96 Hours director Pierre Morel delivers solid star power around John Cena, Alison Brie and Christian Slater, coupled with plenty of gripping action that makes for a fun and entertaining TV experience ensures.

The fact that this is not for everyone is also reflected in the rating of the Moviepilot community, which gives the film 5 out of 10 points. Opinions are also divided at Rotten Tomatoes: While the press here gives it a subterranean 10 percent, the Audience rating of 76 percent but it’s definitely worth seeing.
