For others, it is even an annual tradition to visit the lock. “We come from Ederveen, which is located between Veenendaal and Ede”, says another lover of the Mijndense lock who is sitting on red chairs together with her husband. “We park the car at Breukelen and cycle here. It’s exciting.” And this is not the first time this year: “Due to the warm weather, we were also here yesterday. Someone had secured the ropes of the boat instead of letting it hang, the boat was then tilted and stuck.” She doesn’t like sailing herself, but she really enjoys watching.
