ENI wants to increase investments in Libya to increase gas

(Finance) – The CEO of ENI told the president of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) that the Italian energy company intends launch a new phase of investments aimed at increase gas production in the country, leveraging the significant exploration potential and existing plants that guarantee access to the domestic and European export markets.

This was stated in a note from the Six-legged Dog, after the president of the NOC Farhat Omar Bengdara, together with a delegation of senior executives of the company, met today in Rome Claudio Descalzi to discuss Eni’s activities in Libya and strategic projects. The CEO of ENI also confirmed to the president of the NOC the full commitment of the Italian company in operating activities in the country. In addition, the top management of the two companies discussed the implementation in the country of projects related to renewables.

Descalzi welcomed the NOC’s plan increase the country’s daily production up to 2 million barrels of oil per day and confirmed Eni’s support in achieving this goal, to the mutual benefit of the parties.
