Eni starts production in record time of the new Berkine Basin field in Algeria

(Finance) – Eni announces the start of the production of HDLE / HDLS fieldin the grant of Zemlet el Arbi in the North Berkine basin (Algeria) just six months after the discovery in March.

The HDLE / HDLS oil field is currently producing 10,000 barrels of oil per day (bod). The increase in production will take place through a accelerated development plan which involves the drilling of new wells in 2023.

This milestone, achieved in partnership with Sonatrach and in collaboration with local authorities, it was made possible thanks to the upstream business model adopted by Eni and based on the parallelization of the planning, authorization and executive phases.

The accelerated development of HDLE / HDLS, in addition to the recent start-up of Berkine South, will contribute to the achievement of a Eni’s net production in Algeria of over 120,000 boed in 2023strengthening the company’s role as the leading international energy company in the country.
