Eni, Gattei: we could sell a further share of Enilive, more towards 5% and not 10%

Eni Gattei we could sell a further share of Enilive

(Finance) – In July Eni had signed an exclusivity agreement with KKR for the sale of a stake in Enilive between 20% and 25%, which yesterday proved to be 25%. On that occasion, Eni said that the strong interest shown by primary institutional financial investors could lead to the subsequent sale of a further stake of up to 10% of Enilive.

“Having placed 25%, we want to see if in the end there isopportunity to bring on board another partner perhaps with 5% and not with a further 10%“, he said Francesco GatteiChief Transition & Financial Officer of Eni, during the conference call with analysts that followed the publication of the results for the first nine months of 2024.

Gattei underlined Eni’s ability to “proceed effectively with the disposal plan” and that we are “working on some additions” regarding stakes in some subsidiaries, “and potentially in Novamont, but this takes more time.”

Regarding the path towards the listing of Plenitude and Enilive on the stock exchange, the manager said that the “IPOs depend on market conditions and this year, even after 2022 and 2023, it was a year with few IPOs”https://www.Finance.it/DettaglioNews/115_2024-10-25_TLB/.”We want to have a balance between the IPO in the medium term and a valorization in the short term”, but “we do not think that the path towards an IPO is a continuous sell-down of our share, because we want to maintain control”.
