(Finance) – On the occasion of 90th International Horse Show Of Siena square, Eni, Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports And Stable 1918 have signed an agreement to develop joint initiatives for the energy transition of equestrian activities. The area of intervention of the collaboration is that of greater sustainability, in particular aimed at promoting models of decarbonization of equestrian clubs and the main national stables, with a strategic vision based on concrete initiatives consistent with the principles of equestrian disciplines.
It is growing more and more, even in the context of equestrian sports, the need to create equestrian centers and events aligned with the needs of sustainability and to make athletes increasingly sensitive to the environment. As claimed by the president of the FISE Mark DiPaola, partner of the agreement “The equestrian art is the improvement of simple things and it is also a great resource of eco-sustainability and education. In this context, the culture of sustainability finds fertile ground thanks to the combination of practice and technique”.
To sign today the commitment Scuderia 1918 which, in its farsighted and innovative vision, adheres to and promotes an ecological and ethological sensitivity, through planning aimed at improving more and more the welfare of the horses and at the same time to carry out projects more in line with environmental sustainability. A renewal which, based on the ethical principles linked to the nature of the horse, perfects the intimate relationship between man and horse, the most precious and profound foundation of horse riding, also through collaborations with international players.
Thanks to the development of a portfolio complete with products, services and dedicated solutions Eni intends to contribute to decarbonization of equestrian centers, sports facilities and equestrian events, directing them towards the energy transition with an offer dedicated to activities related to the world of sport.
Among the areas of interest of the partnership, the joint development of projects dedicated toenergy efficiencywith particular reference to biomass plants (thermal or cogeneration), geothermal, agrivoltaic and photovoltaic plants, to the promotion of the decarbonisation of transport activities in the horse-racing sector also through the use of HVO biofuels and electric vehicles, up to the use of high herbicides of vegetable origin biodegradability.
L’innovationthrough research, study and development of targeted technologies, has the aim of improving the sporting and competitive qualities of athletes, horses and riders, for a beautiful, elevated and respectful riding as well as representative of an environmental management model at the avant-garde and which aims at greater sustainability.
Mark DiPaola, President of the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation declared: “The goal of sustainability for the Italian Equestrian Port Federation starts right from Piazza di Siena. Creating the least possible impact by highlighting nature and the beauties of Villa Borghese were our mission in organizing the CSIO in Rome Piazza di Siena Master brothers d’Inzeo and all the other federal events. We strongly support the project of Eni and Scuderia 1918, not only for the validity of the initiative, but also because our activities take place, more than others, in contact with nature and we therefore believe that a decisive commitment is necessary for development sustainable environment in which we live”.
Emanuele Anchisi, Founder of Scuderia 1819 said: “Sports ethics and ethological and ecological awareness are the foundations of the Scuderia 1918 Racing Team which in 2022, with Fieracavalli, launched a process of sustainability of an international event. With this new project launched with Eni and Fise we want to materialize the approach to sustainable development of equestrian centers and equestrian events in Italy”.
