Eni and KazMunayGas start construction of hybrid power plant in Kazakhstan

Eni agreement with Ithaca energy for almost all exploration and

(Telestock) – Eni and the Kazakh state-owned subsidiary KazMunayGas (KMG) have announced the start of the construction of a 250 MW hybrid power plant using renewable sources (solar and wind) and gas in Zhanaozen, Mangystau region, in Kazakhstan. This milestone follows an agreement signed between the two companies.

The project is in line with Eni’s decarbonisation strategy and demonstrates the joint commitment to exploit innovative technologies for a low-carbon future in the Mangystau region.

The project includes the hybrid combination of cutting-edge renewable power plants, developed in collaboration with the subsidiary Plenitudeand a gas-fired power plant to balance and stabilize electricity production, leveraging Eni’s overall international industrial expertise.
