England suffered a stinging defeat to Greece after head coach Lee Carsley’s experiments. Thomas Tuchel is already rumored to be the head coach in Germany.

With England’s interim head coach With Lee Carsley there will certainly be screen cravings when England play against Huuhkaji at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday.
On Thursday, Carsley’s proteges amazingly bowed to Greece at Wembley with 1-2 goals. Greece got the ball into the goal five times in total, but three of the hits were rejected as offsides.
Carsley’s choices for the match were surprising. Carsley left the sidelined Harry Kane without being replaced by another pure top player. However, he was very confident in attacking tactics and chose more attacking players for the opening.
This is how the new head coach answered the wishes of some fans. In England, it was hoped that the opening would see more attacking players.
– We tried something different and tried to outmaneuver the midfield. We tried it for 20 minutes yesterday (Wednesday) and it’s disappointing that it didn’t work Carsley said according to the BBC.
In Carsley’s opinion, England also did not give themselves the opportunity to see whether the change was right or wrong.
– It is unrealistic to expect too much. We have to try again.
The risk paid off
Former England defender Lee Dixon stated on ITV that trying new things in a game is in itself the right thing to do. However, he said that changes should not be made because everyone else brings it up.
BBC Correspondent John Murray in turn described that Carsley gave the audience what it wanted. He considered the choice brave and risky.
– Now it backfired, Murray said and reminded of the bigger picture:
– Opponents Greece, Ireland and Finland are far behind England in the world rankings. Anything short of England’s number one would be considered a failure. And after this match, there is a clear chance of that.
A confusing slip
After the stunning defeat, the British media began to speculate that Carsley may not be the right choice to continue as the team’s head coach.
Carsley himself stated at the press conference that he has never taken his continuation for granted. He even let slip that he would “hopefully” return to the under-21 national team.
– It has been clear to me from the beginning that I will do three camps. There are still three games left and hopefully then I will be back in the under-21s.
The BBC has already speculated that the slip may have been an accident. According to the BBC, Carsley probably meant that he would be happy to return to his old position if the FA wanted it.
Thomas Tuchel?
On the other hand, at least in Germany, there are already rumors that Thomas Tuchel would be strong to become England’s head coach.
The 51-year-old German has previously managed, among others, Chelsea and most recently Bayern Munich, which he was allowed to leave last spring.
The German TV channel Welt had reported on the negotiations between Tuchel and the English Football Association and said that “they have progressed”.
England has previously had two foreign head coaches: Sven-Göran Eriksson (2000–2006) and Fabio Capello (2007–2012).
