“The donations have been coming in since October, I think it’s heartwarming,” says Jora Wolterink of the Interim provision. Even before households have received the compensation, the money is already donated to the foundation. The Utrecht organization, which financially supports the needy, wants to redistribute the donated money from the energy compensation in the region. In this way, the money must reach people who need it more. Wolterink thinks the energy compensation alone is not sufficient: “It is simply too little for some people.”
