As every year at this time, the Christmas Bonus is paid to the most modest households. But with the inflation that the country is experiencing, other aid is planned for this month of December. A brief overview.
We told you about it in this article: the Christmas bonus was renewed by the government this year. From December 15, more than 2 million French people will receive this benefit for a basic amount of 152.45 euros minimum, for a single person. Beneficiaries of social minima or various aids are eligible and the amount varies according to the composition of the household.
Implementation of the energy check
At the end of next month, the exceptional energy check will be paid, as part of the introduction of the “tariff abacus” by the government. With an amount varying between 100 and 200 euros, according to the reference tax income of 2021, it does not require any procedure and comes in addition to the classic energy check, which is an aid paid to the most precarious.
About 12 million people are affected in France. You can find more information on the website chequeenergie.gouv.fr. And see if you qualify with this simulator.
Launch of the Repair Bonus
You may have heard of it: consumers are now encouraged to repair their household appliances and other electrical or electronic devices. To encourage repair rather than repurchase, an immediate bonus will be issued from mid-December to all those who entrust their products to certified “QualiRépar” repairers.
Different devices are concerned, ranging from small to large household appliances, including vacuum cleaners, mobile phones and televisions. In total, about thirty devices are concerned. The bonuses will range from €15 to €30 for the year 2022 and from €10 to €45 next year.
Last straight line for taxes
There are three things to keep in mind when it comes to taxes:
- December 14 is the deadline to correct your online declaration (December 31 for paper declarations) and to decide on an advance on income tax credits and reductions, in mid-January;
- December 15 is the deadline to request a monthly payment of the property tax;
- Finally, there are only a few days left to adjust the withholding tax rate. If this is not done quickly, the rate from the last tax return will automatically apply in January 2023.
Help for social housing tenants
With galloping inflation, social landlords who are members of the Soli’AL association and Action Logement have decided to mobilize to help social housing tenants in great difficulty. They offer them a maximum aid of 600 euros.
For this, several conditions must be met:
- You must be a tenant, salaried or self-employed, of social housing;
- You must have an increase in charges of more than €100 per month or face a regularization of charges of more than €1,000 over the last 12 months;
- You must have a living allowance of less than €15 per person per day, because of this additional cost of charges. If all the conditions are met by the tenant, he can then directly contact his social landlord, in order to compile his file from a dedicated online tool (Soli’Aide), from December 12th.
