Energy, Brussels is discussing a plan to lower the price of renewables

Energy EU revolution the plan to get rid of Russian

(Finance) – The European Commission wants to reform the European electricity market to prioritize the sources of power renewable. This is the message launched by the European Commissioner for Energy, Kadri simson, in an interview with the Financial Times. Simson explained that the Commission is working to bring consumers “the benefits of a greater share of renewable energy”. But they will also serve gas plantsthe Commissioner specified, “but we don’t want to create a system where they will be in operation 24/7”.

Brussels’ proposal is contained in one draft document outlining possible reforms e. that the British newspaper was able to view. The Commission would like to bring the price of renewable energy closer to its “true production costs“: once the infrastructure is built, whether it is a wind farm or a solar plant, the energy source would in fact be essentially free. The Brussels proposal also contains an extension of the tax on extra profits until 2023 for companies that produce energy from renewable sources: the proceeds would still serve to control the prices of bills of consumers.

At present, the European electricity system provides that the price of the energy produced is determined by fuel more expensive, to date the gas. In recent months, France and Spain have already asked Brussels to intervene to change this model which has indeed encouraged investment in renewables but has also forced consumers and businesses to pay a price forrenewable energy very high despite the low production costs.
