(Finance) – Confindustria’s number one Carlo Bonomi proposes the setting of a ceiling for the price of gas regardless of what Europe decides. “If Europe does not want to, we must act alone: a ceiling that applies in Italy on the price of gas bought wholesale, well below current levels, says Bonomi in an interview with Corriere della Sera.
For the President of Confindustria “it is very feasible” and it is a transparency problem that Arera must expect from importers. “We need to know how much they pay for gas – he underlines – and to know the duration of the contracts. I don’t think that importers buy everything at the market prices, crazy at this stage”.
For Bonomi, intervene upstream and setting an indicative gas price is useful also to understand “what are the profits on electricity” and “those who speculate”, because “there are those who take great advantage of the price increases”.
“I often compare myself with my colleagues from France and Germany and I notice a difference: from them the defense of industry is a factor of national security, because it is the industry that creates income and jobs. In addition to gas, Confindustria has others three proposals to do to the government: unlock i 400 renewable source plants stopped due to lack of authorizations, to reserve to businesses a share of renewable energy produced and increase the national gas production in the upper Adriatic.
