(Finance) – It will be inaugurated on Wednesday April 9th at 10 am at the ENEA of Portici Research Center (Naples) The ENEA supercomputer Cresco8.
The event will be divided into a workshop, with both institutional and technical interventions and insights,
which will offer an opportunity for comparison between experts, researchers and representatives of the institutions on the strategic role of high -performance calculation for the future of innovation.
CRESCO 8 It represents the latest evolution of the CRESCO supercomputer family, which for over fifteen years have provided HPC resources to the Enea agency and its scientific and industrial partners. Acquired thanks to the funding of the Next Generation EU program, Creco8 will significantly enhance the calculation skills used to deal with the most complex challenges of the energy and digital transition.
Among the main projects that will benefit from its performance, the Dun Tokamak Test (DTT) Facility, an ambitious nuclear merger experiment under construction at the Enea Research Center in Frascati, intended to support process, the great international nuclear merger program. Thanks to the simulations and analyzes made possible with CRESCO 8, it will be possible to develop innovative solutions for the management of energy flows within future melting reactors.
The advanced computational skills of CRESCO 8 will also support a wide range of research activities, contributing to the strengthening of national scientific infrastructures and to the consolidation of the role of Aeneas as a reference point for technological innovation.
