Enel, record emission-free production at 84% in the first half of the year

(Finance) – In the first half of 2024, the production of “emission free” electricity reaches the record level of 84%. In Italy, renewable production increases by 26% compared to the first half of last year, reaching 75% of the total Group production in the country.

In the current year the decarbonisation trajectory of Is in the accelerates decisively and consistently with the objectives of the Strategic Plan 2024-2026. This is what emerges from the Quarterly Bulletin containing the Group’s operating data for the first half of 2024.

In particular: globallythe production of “emission free” electricity reaches the record level of 84% with a significant decrease in production from thermoelectric sources (-30%). The total renewable capacity at Group level, consolidated and managed, reaches approximately 64 GW compared to 58 GW in the same period of 2023, on a like-for-like basis, with an increase in renewable production of approximately 17%. In Italyelectricity production from renewable sources increased by 26% compared to the first half of last year, reaching 75% of the Group’s total production in the country, while production from thermal sources fell by 59%. In Spainrenewable production increased by 36% compared to the first half of last year, while electricity production from thermal sources fell by around 11%.

The Report, published ahead of the approval by Enel’s Board of Directors and the disclosure of the economic and financial data contained in the periodic accounting documents, aims to further strengthen the Group’s transparency towards the financial community, in line with best practices in the most advanced markets.
