(Finance) – Enel Energia replies to provision notified today by Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data, which fined the company a sum of 79.1 million euros for – explains the Authority – “the serious deficiencies in the processing of personal data for telemarketing purposes of thousands of users in the electricity and gas sector “. A proceeding that had already led the authority to fine four other companies with a fine of 1.8 million euros and the confiscation of some databases used for illicit activities. In this regard, Enel specifies that it concerns “events prior to 2022″ and declares “have always acted with the utmost correctness and to have always adopted all suitable measures to guarantee safety of its systems and compliance with regulatory provisions, including those relating to data protectionhaving always been committed to improving the quality of the service offered, ensuring maximum transparency in the relationship with its customers and ensuring the confidentiality of customer data”.
