(Finance) – Gridspertisethe Enel Group company dedicated to the digital transformation of electrical networks, and the Hera Group, one of the major Italian multi-utilities, have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at developing the smart grids of the future through a state-of-the-art integrated system for the collection and measurement of data collected from the electricity and gas distribution networks in the multiservice field. The two companies thus combine their know-how developed in the various areas of expertise to achieve technical synergies in the digitalization of networks. The results of this collaboration – explain the two companies in a note – could be of interest to multi-utility companies also abroad, thus projecting the technological excellence conceived and developed in our country on international markets.
In particular, the agreement provides for the testing of an integrated data system collected from Hera Group gas devices and Gridspertise smart meters for the electricity grids. The integration tests in the gas-electricity multiservice area will be carried out in Italy on the network managed by Inrete Energy Distribution, the natural gas and electricity distribution company of the Hera Group. The Hera Group will be able to rely in particular on its experience in the smart meter gas sector which has led it to patent the advanced counter NexMeter.
Gridspertise will make available its most innovative solutions for the integrated management of metering data at the service of the development of new smart and sustainable grids to accelerate the digital transformation of electricity infrastructures. In particular, in recent months the company concluded with the Hera Group agreements for the supply of 435 thousand smart meters and concentratorsas well as an innovative remote management system that will be used in the experimentation.
Based on the results of the trial, the two companies will evaluate their joint participation in future tenders, which will also be held outside the national territory, where the sale of hardware and software solutions for gas and electricity metering will be envisaged. This collaboration may be extended, at a later stage, also to solutions concerning the integrated water cycle, both in terms of metering and smart water grids.
