It is a strange sight, in an old parking lot of the Jaarbeurs there is a pile of stones behind a fence with barbed wire. If you look closer and have lived in Utrecht for decades, you will recognize the pile. It stood for a long time on the Vredenburg, at the entrance to the old Music Center. When architect Hertzberger’s creation was converted into the Tivoli Vredenburg music palace, the mountain of stones had to be removed.
