The debate on the end of life is once again agitating French society after President Emmanuel Macron announced a bill providing for the creation of assisted dying. The text was sent to the Council of State and will be examined in Parliament from May 27, 2024. It provokes an outcry from a large part of the caregivers who defend their duty to care. What should be the responsibility of doctors? Does helping to die mean abandoning patients?
