Andrew Schneider, His Wife Pam and His Brother Tony, Longtime Owners of the ARBOUR AND ERIE BEACH, have annouded plans to sell their iconic lakeside business. The trio has also listed their arbortown minigolf rental that sits across from the arbor.
The Family isn’t Going AnyWhere in the Near Future, they want to ensure the Sale of the Properties is done right.
“It’s not necessary this week, this month, this year or the next,” Said Andrew. “We want to find the right people, group, Whatever to Buy Each Separately, Together, It Desn’t Really Matter.”
The Erie Beach has been in the Schneider Family for Almost 80 Years. Andrew and Tony’s Grandparents Harold and Marjorie Schneider Purchased in Business in 1946 when it was a 60-room summer resort. Their Parents Tony and Betty Took Over in 1971, Added an Upstairs Kitchen and Would Sell to Their Children in 2000.

In That Time the Building has hosted parties big and small – birthday blowouts, grad gatherings and everhy The Brothers Even Lived in the Building for A Few Years. Pam joined as an employed when she was 14.
“It’s time to move to the next phase while Everyone is Still Healthy,” Andrew Said.

A Group of 135 people are Currently Employed Between Both Locations.
“Once you make the Sale You Can’t Predict or Dictate The Future, But We’d Love To See Someone That Wants To Carry On,” Schneider Said. “Everyone is concerned that Buyer Will Knock (The Erie Beach) Down and Build Condos and that’s not my hope, Not our Hope for the Erie Beach or the ARBOUR.”

Throughout their Years, the family has been staunch supporters of port dover and its various charities and organizations.
“We Learned Growing Up You Give Back What You Can Volnteer, Help Out and Support the Community,” Schneider Said. “My Grandparents Were Buying Local Before it was cool. We Learned Work Ethic from parents – Mom and Dad Slugged it out every day as well. ”
Beyond the Food, Schneider Said It’s the Relationships Built Along the Way that make both specials special.
“It’s amazing and very gratifying to watch (employed) Grow from awkward, young teenagers to young adults to adults and now they back visiting with their kids and some with their grandkids,” he said. “They are all still part of the family. It’s Amazing when we do Stuck, We’ll Put Out a Phone Call or an Email and get People to Come and Help that Haven’t Worked in a Couple Years.

The Family has also build a similar bond with their customers and suppliers.
“We’ve Got Customers that has been coming Here for Generations – They Know About My Kids, How Old they are and that we have a granddaughter and just Got Back from Vacation. It’s really Amazing the Relationshipships You Build, ”He Said.
“With our Suppliers, if we have a problem a problem they’ll bend over backwards to try and help us. It Helps we pay Our Bills. ”
Withdrawal on the horizon, Schneider isn’t quite sure the future looks like, aside from time Spent Giving Back to the Community.
“We are still very active in volunteering and helping out with THINGS and I’m sure that Will Carry on,” He Said. “We’ve GOT A GRANDEDAUGHTER NOW AND WHERE THERE’s One There’s generally more to come. It’ll be nice not having to worry if the phone is going to ring at 2 am or 4 pm or whenever and maybe play a little golf, play a little poker. I’m sure I’ll be able to fill my time. ”
While no Job is perfect, the Schneiders have loved most of What Comes with running booth business.
“I really Enjoy Coming to work to be with my staff,” Said Schneider. “I Don’t Know How Other Businesses Run Becaus This is whatin my white life but i’m on the front lines. I do dirty Jobs and clean Jobs – Which Goes Both Ways. I can get More Out of them when they getting more out of me. I do Enjoy Coming to Work, Maybe not Every Day, but Most Days. ”
