This Wednesday, March 27, marks the end of an emblematic space mission, Gaia. Not the best known in the general public, but darling of astrophysicists, the satellite of the European space agency has been cartographed since 2013 our galaxy. No spectacular images to be tooth, but the most precise map ever made of the Milky Way, with nearly two billion stars, which today allow you to better understand its history.
