ENAC twinning with Lebanon for harmonization of air transport

(Finance) – A delegation fromENAC has established a twinning with Lebanon for harmonization of the aviation sector. The President of ENAC Pierluigi Di Palma and the General Manager Alessio Quarantatogether with the ambassador of the Italian Republic to Lebanon Nicoletta Bombermet some in Beirut representatives of the Lebanese governmentincluding the Minister of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) Ali Hamiyeh and those in charge of civil aviation of the country.

The meetings took place in the context of Twinning Projectinstitutional twinning programs lasting 24 months, funded by the European Union to allow the administrative and regulatory adaptation of the civil aviation authorities of non-EU countries and favor the harmonization of international civil aviation systems. Specifically, the Twinning with Lebanon is funded by the European Union with a budget of 1.2 million euros.

The project consists ofassistance on specific issues through close collaboration between the Administration of the beneficiary country and the entrusted subject, in this case ENACwhich plays the role of assistant of the Lebanese Authority to bring Lebanese civil aviation closer to the European Union. Among the topics covered by the twinning are safety, securitythe drafting of the State Safety Programoperations of flight, flight licenses, airspace, airports, quality, internal organizationas well as the provision of courses staff training.
