(Finance) – Participation continues of Italy at the 14th ICAO Air Navigation Conference. During the technical discussions, ENAC President Pierluigi Di Palma – as reported in a note – spoke in support of the documents “Future aerodromes to accommodate new aircraft technologies” and “Industry contribution to the ICAO Long-Term Aspirational Goal”, respectively presented by the ICAO Secretariat and the stakeholders of the aeronautical industry (ATAG, ACI, CANSO, IATA, IBAC and ICCAIA).
President Di Palma stressed the fundamental role played by sustainable fuels, in particular SAF, in pursuing the decarbonisation objectives of the aviation sector and, consequently, in the introduction of new standards for the related certifications.
During the day, the leaders of the Italian delegation met Tanja Grobotek, European Regional Director of CANSO, and participated in the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between ECAC and Malaysia signed by the Director General of ENAC Quaranta in his capacity as ECAC President.
