It was around 5 p.m. that the alarm came, and both an ambulance and the police rushed to the scene. At the scene, it was found that the person was dead. The zoo had closed for the day when the incident occurred.
– We regard it as a very serious incident. It is being investigated as a work environment violation, which is routine when it happens in a workplace. It does not have to mean that someone is a suspect, but is a routine measure when incidents occur, says Rickard Lundqvist, press spokesperson at the police.
The investigation is led by prosecutors at the National Unit for Environmental and Work Environment Cases.
